lass 1 at Allen Kids builds on the foundational skills acquired in the Preparatory Year while further developing academic knowledge and personal growth. The curriculum is designed to engage young learners in active learning and help them take ownership of their education. Through a combination of structured lessons, hands-on activities, and creative exploration, Class 1 students are introduced to the world of formal schooling, while continuing to focus on emotional growth, social interactions, and individual confidence.

Key Features of Class 1 Programme

  • 1. Circle Time:

Circle Time remains a vital feature of the Class 1 curriculum, providing a space for students to share ideas, discuss experiences, and revise topics covered in class. It's a time where children can share their favorite stories, songs, or discuss personal experiences, helping to build communication skills and a sense of community in the classroom.

  • 2. Reading and Language Lessons:

Class 1 continues to develop oral language skills and vocabulary expansion through interactive reading and language activities. Focus is placed on listening, speaking, and comprehension skills as children work on reading simple books, building phonemic awareness, and learning new sight words. Group reading and storytelling sessions are used to enhance their language acquisition in an enjoyable and collaborative environment.

  • 3. Technology Skills:

Computer Time is an exciting part of the Class 1 curriculum. Children use educational technology to develop early digital literacy skills. Activities include using simple learning apps, games, and programs to reinforce math, language, and creativity, helping them feel comfortable with technology in a safe and structured way.

  • 4. Physical Development and Well-being:

Children engage in a range of physical activities such as yoga, skating, and adventure sports to develop gross motor skills, balance, and coordination. These activities foster a sense of confidence, self-awareness, and self-esteem, while promoting overall well-being. Additionally, these physical activities help children understand the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle.

  • 5. Leadership and Responsibility:

In Class 1, leaders are appointed to give children a sense of authority and responsibility. By taking on small leadership roles and job responsibilities, students learn to accept challenges, make decisions, and work as part of a team. This helps build their independence and accountability.

  • 6. Art and Craft:

Art and craft activities are an essential part of the Class 1 curriculum, encouraging creativity and enhancing fine motor skills. Through activities like drawing, painting, and cutting and pasting, children are given the opportunity to express their ideas, experiment with different materials, and develop their imagination and artistic abilities.

  • 7. Music and Dance

Music and dance activities are incorporated to help children explore sound beats, rhythm, and movement. By participating in singing, dancing, and playing simple instruments, students not only develop their understanding of musical patterns but also enhance their listening skills and awareness of new words and their meanings
